Banff I, bronze, 2014, height 30cm

Growing up in what is now Moray, I spent childhood summers on the beach and roaming the coastline and fishing ports of Banffshire. These memories are a  background to my work. The Fisheries Museum in Anstruther provided me with copies of construction drawings for 1960’s wooden fishing boats. This sculpture was developed by evolving forms from simple curves from these drawings. I use powerful 3D computer software, FormZ, to enable sketching and visualisation of design in the round.
